ECO FRIENDLY FASHION

"Not Only Do They Look Good -
They're Functional TOO!"

You got to see these things to believe em. You have to seriously look at these things and stretch your imagination. The first glance you think they belong in a museum in a plexiglass pedistal. They look like museum pieces. The second glance you know they are usable items of fashion.

These are made from recycled Coca Cola labels and boxes. You can use these purses and they have a powerful fashion statement all their own. They are really eye catching.

Here is what can be said about this exciting company... the Ecoist...

Recycling and repurposing has become more popular than ever, and Ecoist, the eco-fashion accessories company was born, with the objective of merging design with social and environmental consciousness.

Established in 2004, Ecoist is a pioneer of this new genre in fashion, wherein products are made from recycled, organic or earth-friendly materials. Through fair trade partnerships around the world, candy wrappers, old newspapers, soda can tabs, and movie billboards finds new life as handbags, belts and costume jewelry.

The latest to join Ecoist’s list of trade partners is Coca-Cola, the world’s most recognizable brand. Leveraging the Coca-Cola brand’s popularity, the collaboration between the two companies entails launching a line of handbags made from misprinted or discontinued Coca-Cola bottle labels. As part of the partnership, a tree will be planted for every single handbag sold.

Most of the labels are sourced from Coca-Cola bottlers or label manufacturers located in Peru, where Ecoist has been working in a production center operated by Prosostenible S.A., a fair trade manufacturer founded by José Luis Silva and Giselle Durand.
