"Researchers have some news for chocolate lovers: it may be good for you. Scientists reported preliminary evidence recently that cocoa and other chocolates may keep high blood pressure down, your blood flowing and your heart healthy.

The research, the latest which correlates eating flavonoid-rich foods with a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease(1), was presented in February at the American Association for the Advancement of Science's (AAAS) annual meeting in Boston.

One study found that a substance in cocoa helps the body process nitric oxide (NO), a compound critical for healthy blood flow and blood pressure. Another study showed that flavonols in cocoa prevent fat-like substances in the bloodstream from oxidizing and clogging the arteries, and make blood platelets less likely to stick together and cause clots.

Flavonoids are plant compounds with potent antioxidant properties; so far, scientists have found more than 4,000 kinds. Cocoa beans contain large quantities of flavonoids, and so do red wine, tea, cranberries, peanuts, strawberries, apples and many other fruits and vegetables.(2) The flavonoids in chocolate are called flavonols. "

LAKE BLUFF, Ill. (Feb. 5) - Police say a man accused of failing to pay for pedicures and other spa treatments led officers on a brief foot chase before he was arrested. Marshall G. Wolbers, 56, of Lake Bluff, has been charged with theft of services, police said Monday. He was arrested over the weekend near a train station. "He ran away from the officers across a parking lot and tried to get into a taxi ...

That's when he was apprehended," Deputy Police Chief David Belmonte said. Authorities had been searching for a man fitting Wolbers' description who received a number of services in at least 20 spas in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin since last March and left without paying the bill. Belmonte said an officer had spotted Wolbers in a vehicle

Thursday evening. But when police tried to pull him over, he led them on a chase through several suburban Chicago communities. The chase was called off because Wolbers was driving recklessly.

He eventually was captured at the Lake Bluff train station Saturday morning. Wolbers, who also was cited with several traffic violations, is free on $20,000 bond.

"It's worth the investment because it means you've got a better shot of finding a similar shade at the drugstore."

When you color at home you run the risk of seriously ruining your look. This can be a very risky thing if you are novice or are in a hurry or just plain.... don't know what your doing. In either case it is better to color your hair with someone who has a little experience or leave it all to the experts. This is entirely up to you.....

No matter what you decide always use a color safe shampoo. And if you can you should wait for at least one day before you wash your hair.

Size Zero Models Are Back!! -- In London

LONDON (AFP) - One of the biggest names in British fashion, known for its close links to supermodel Kate Moss, will not use size zero models during London Fashion Week, media has reported.

Topshop, a high street brand which peddles cutting edge designs at affordable prices, has asked its designers not to use waifs.

It signed a much-trumpeted design deal with the famously skinny Moss last year.

The news came days after the British Fashion Council said it would not ban stick-thin models from London's catwalks when the shows start in two weeks' time, despite increasing pressure for the move.

"We are going to set the scene at the opening of London Fashion Week and I hope everyone else follows," Sir Philip Green, head of the Arcadia group, which owns Topshop, said in the Daily Telegraph.

"We all know what the definition of unhealthy is and we want to try to act correctly, responsibly and without causing a rift."

But he added that the company would not go as far as weighing its models.
The organizers of Madrid Fashion Week in September banned women with a body mass index (BMI) of less than 18, while ultra-thin models were also barred from Milan's fashion week.

The World Health Organization' World Health Organization says a woman is underweight if she has a BMI of less than 18.5, and adds that a BMI of between 18.5 and 24.9 is desirable.

BMI measures body fat based on height and weight and it is thought that a 5ft 9in (1.75 metres) model would have to weigh at least 55 kilograms (121 pounds) to comply with the WHO's suggested range.
